One more Get Back-inspired thought: The Beatles do a lot of recording, including vocals, while sitting down. Then again, some of their strongest vocal performances come when they're standing and performing outside on the Apple Corps rooftop—though, granted, there's also an adrenaline rush that comes with playing live.
All you musicians out there, do you tend to record vocals while sitting or standing? Do you notice much difference?
I assumed most singers would stand, unless they're seated at a piano, but I'm no singer, so I don't really know.
Every choir in the world stands up to sing, and there's a reason for that. It is much easier to take a deep breath and to sing with proper support when standing. When I've been recording songs lately, I sometimes sit for a few vocal takes out of laziness, but when I remember to stand I get better results.
